Progress Report #1

January 2024

After the conclusion of her campaign, Dr. Shrishti Singh took part in a National Entrepreneurship Development program organized by the National Science Foundation, also known as NSF I-Corps. This intensive 8-week training provided Dr. Singh and her team with the opportunity to meticulously craft the mission for the technology-focused startup she is involved with. Notably, Dr. Singh emerged as the champion in a Start-up Pitch competition conducted by the George Mason University Castello School of Business, securing both the esteemed First Place award and the coveted Mason Choice accolade, along with an impressive $6,000 monetary prize.

In terms of scientific progress, we are thrilled to share that Dr. Singh and her team have successfully completed and filed the utility patent (see patent) for their work, which is currently patent pending. This accomplishment comes on the heels of a publication dated February 2023 (see publication) that was based on the very work for which the funds were raised. Remarkably, this publication ranked among the top 20 most read articles in the Journal “Photoacoustics” for the year 2023.

Furthermore, the team has another publication pending, slated for release in mid-2024, furthering the legacy of this groundbreaking research.

“While 2023 may have been slower in terms of experimental progress”, Dr. Singh said, “we have been laying the groundwork for significant developments through various collaborations.”

On behalf of Dr. Shrishti Singh and her team at George Mason University we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have supported this campaign and research initiatives through contributions and by sharing it with others. Your support has been invaluable in propelling this work forward.
